The Ghostbusters Were in Lafayette
Did anyone else notice the Louisiana Ghostbusters in town? I heard several people say the saw them driving around Lafayette. Could it be that it’s Halloween week? No worries Lafayette, there were no reports of ghosts in the city. The reason they were here was an event at El Paso Mexican Grill to help provide relief to Hurricane Delta victims.
Who are the Louisiana Ghostbusters? According to their website, Louisiana Ghostbusters’ main purpose as a public service organization, is to direct money to charities, participate in fundraisers for charities, attend fund-raising events, perform charitable acts and provide community service. Because they’re huge Ghostbusters fans, the represent in full costume and movie-reminiscent props.
El Paso Mexican Grill Lafayette held an event to boost awareness of the dire situation in Southwest Louisiana after both Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta did tremendous damage to our area. Proceeds from the benefit the local non-profit, Impact Acadiana and will go directly to Rotary District 6200 who service Lake Charles and surrounding area. The event had live music by The Eighties Experience and photos with the Ghostbusters. You could also take a photo with the Ghostbuster car, “Westlake Ecteaux”. A $10 donation to hurricane relief was requested, but not mandatory.
We love that the Louisiana Ghostbusters are out doing work for the hurricane victims in our area. If you have an event to benefit a certain charity, “who you gonna call?”, Louisiana Ghostbusters!
