A convicted sex offender is in deep trouble with the law once again as he now finds himself at the heart of a human trafficking case in St. Landry Parish.
The bill would allow judges to better steer victims to support services, rather than jail for drug crimes or prostitution that are tied to trafficking.
It is estimated that there are between 100,000 and 300,000 child victims of human trafficking in the U.S. alone, with the average age of entry into human trafficking for girls and boys ranges from 11-14 years old. East Bayou Baptist Church is trying to raise awareness by showing a documentary on the subject.
