SUV Drives Into Samir Oriental Rugs On Johnston

Samir Oriental Rugs on Johnston was severely damaged yesterday when an SUV slammed into the front of the building.

Store owner Samir Elhelou told KATC that an elderly man experienced a medical emergency that caused him to swerve off Johnston and crash into Samir's. Emergency personnel on the scene reported that medical assistance was declined.

Elhelou reports that the damage to the store and his stock can be repaired and replaced, and that he's grateful everyone involved in the incident is okay.
