Summer Ellyson Is SBC Pitcher of the Week For 6th Time This Year

For the third consecutive week and sixth time this season, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball pitcher Summer Ellyson (29-4) is the Sun Belt Conference pitcher of the week.

In 4 starts last week, the junior right hander out of Teurlings averaged 2 strikeouts an inning, earning career strikeout number 500 on Saturday.

"Summer is always Summer," Louisiana Softball head coach Gerry Glasco said in a University press release. "She comes out and gives us time to get the lead and get our offense going. She's so steady on the mound and does it so seemingly effortlessly. I'm always impressed by her.”

Ellyson's 29 wins on the season lead the nation.
