Study Finds Chipotle Bowls Contain Cancer Chemicals
Next time you go to Chipotle choose the burrito option. I normally choose the burrito bowl, it's one of my favorite meals. How awesome is it that you can eat healthily and still get your Chipotle fix?
A new report is circling social media and has a lot of us thinking we may need to drop our favorite fast meal option. The containers Chipotle uses for their bowls and salads are called fiber bowls. The “New Food Economy” report claims the fiber bowls are exposed to chemicals that can lead to cancer. These bowls are treated with "forever chemicals" which helps keep the food in the bowls hot and helps avoid the greasy food from seeping out on to the table.
The "PFAS" or "Forever chemicals" don't break down in the human body and they can gather over time. Several loyal Chipotle customers are concerned. Chipotle issued this statement:
“We are committed to using safe and sustainable food packaging and only partner with suppliers who make fluorochemical sciences and food safety a top priority. These suppliers operate under strict guidelines set forth by the FDA, and have all provided chipotle with certification that all raw material and finished pulp products fully meet regulatory requirements.”
