Florida Spring Breakers Fight Off Would-Be Armed Robbers At Gas Station
A duo of armed robbers chose the wrong spring breakers to mess with.
Four young men were pumping gas around 3:35 a.m. this past Sunday in Oakland Park, Florida when an armed man approached their vehicle demanding that the boys give him "everything you got."
The boys grabbed the man, wrestled him to the ground and managed to pull his gun away. During the struggle, the getaway driver ran over to push the young men off of his partner in crime. Still, the boys managed to run them off with their own firearm, pointing the weapon at the men who retreated to their vehicle and ultimately sped away.
Less than an hour later, police were able to find the driver, Kevin Campbell, hiding in some bushes after a brief foot chase. Campbell was arrested for robbery with a firearm, amongst other charges. Deputies say they are still searching for the second would-be robber who used a gun from a previous burglary.
As for why the victims didn't fire the gun at their attackers, the boys explained
Those guys, those are sons of somebody. Those are fathers of somebody. Those are brothers to somebody.
Luckily, the men were able to walk away with only a few cuts and bruises but more importantly, their bravery and quick thinking allowed them to walk away with their lives.
