(Youngsville, Louisiana)  - SLEMCO is warning Acadiana that some individuals are going door-to-door using their logo without permission.

In a social media post, SLEMCO shows two photos of people knocking on a door, with their logo in sight, while attempting to sell solar panels.

SLEMCO does not employ the individuals knocking on the doors, and the police are aware of the situation in the Youngsville area.

Slemco states that solar panels can be a great addition to a home in terms of conserving energy, but they only work effectively when appropriately installed by professionals.

Those knocking on the doors in the Youngsville community were seen driving unmarked vehicles, which should be a cause for concern.

The Youngsville P.D. states that individuals knocking on doors to sell solar panels do not have permission to do so, as it is considered an unauthorized attempt to sell a product.

If someone knocks on your door attempting to sell you something, proceed with caution and never give out your debit or credit card information to anyone at your door.

It's never safe to open the door to your house if you don't recognize the person. If the person attempting to sell you something is overly aggressive, that should also be a red flag; it's likely a scam.

Here's a look at those knocking on doors in Youngsville. We do encourage you to share this with friends and family on social media.
