The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control sent out a press release today detailing an update as it pertains to the modified Phase 2 plan that Governor Edwards has put in place with COVID-19 cases rise across the state.

The release from the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATAC) says that no bar, with or without LDH food service certificate, shall allow indoor consumption of food or beverages unless the business is located in a qualified parish.

Qualifications for parishes to opt-in to on-premise consumption, under the parameters that have been issued by the State, include two consecutive weeks of a percent-positivity rate below 5%.

The release says that six parishes are currently meeting the requirements for on-premise consumption and have opted in for opening. Those parishes include Catahoula, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, and St. John the Baptist Parishes.

Any bars that are not located in these parishes can still offer drive-thru and curbside services, along with outdoor table service. Restrictions are still in place for outdoor service and consumption.
