Sade returns with her first release in seven years, "Flower of the Universe" produced by veteran beatsmith, No I.D.

The track is from the soundtrack for the much-anticipated Ava DuVernay film, A Wrinkle In Time starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Chris Pine.

“I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway,” DuVernay said in a tweet announcing the song. “She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”

Mondaynight, DuVernay shared the track, expressing her excitement about its arrival on Twitter.

“A late-night treat for all you Flowers of the Universe. My thanks to No I.D. And thank you to Sade. You are a queen and a visionary and we love you,” the director tweeted.

This is the first release from the legendary singer since her 2010 album, Soldier of Love, which spawned the single of the same name. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200, becoming Sade's first number-one debut and second number-one album on the chart.

A Wrinkle in Time hits theaters on March 9.
