Red's is giving its members one less thing to worry about during this coronavirus pandemic.

The legendary Lafayette health club is one of the many businesses forced to close due to the state-wide mandate that forced gyms to shutter their doors as authorities try to get a handle on the COVID-19 outbreak. Red Lerille's Health Club will be closed for a minimum of two weeks and even in the face of uncertainty, they are keeping their members top of mind.

In an email issued to their 10,000+ members, Red's announced they would be issuing a credit for half of their monthly fee.

I'll be honest. When I got that email, it was less about saving money on my monthly membership to Red's but more of a testament to how the smallest gestures of good character can have the biggest impacts. It's the character that I've seen other local businesses put on display, even in this unprecedented climate.

While we don't know how long this will last, or how bad things will get, it's important to know that EVERYONE is feeling the effect in some way, shape, or form—no matter how big, small, rich, or poor. Still, through all of this many local places like Red's (over 200 employees) are getting creative to do everything they can to hold on to their business so that everyone has a place to come back to once this subsides.

During this difficult time let's try our best to give more than we take, and take care of each other—and most importantly, ourselves.

Meanwhile, get ready for the cleanest Red's ever.
