The James Beard Foundation Awards are the Super Bowl of the culinary world, and we are not surprised at all to see Louisiana represented in so many of the semi finalist nominations for 2019.

14 of the nominees that were announced earlier this week are in New Orleans, and that includes Chef Isaac Toups from Rayne. You might remember Chef Toups from season 13 of Bravo's 'Top Chef' TV show, where he was voted 'Fan Favorite'. He is currently the owner of Toups Meatery in New Orleans, and is nominated this year for Best Chef: South, which he was also up for in 2016.

The finalists for the very prestigious awards will be announced on March 27, with the ceremony to be held in Chicago on May 6.
