Popular Cereal And Other Products Contain Traces Of Dangerous Weed Killer Ingredient
Mom and Dad, you may want to check the pantry.
KLFY-TV reports that "twenty-one oat-based cereal and snack products may contain traces of glyphosate," which is an active ingredient in the weed killer Roundup.
Products made by General Mills that may be contaminated include Cheerios and Nature Valley products. That includes the popular granola bars produced by the company.
If you've kept up with the news and current events in recent weeks, you may recall a lawsuit that claimed products in the popular weed killer can cause cancer. A couple was awarded $2 billion in damages after the claim.
General Mills says that safety is their main priority and that they are working to minimize the number of pesticides used on ingredients for their product.
So, I would encourage you to check your pantry and dispose of any of the products mentioned here. It's best to be safe.
