Some good news for some in south Louisiana if they're leaving their home for a lengthy period of time.

The Arnaudvillle Police Department recently announced they are initiating a program that allows those without security cameras at their home to have cameras temporarily installed on their property.

KLFY TV reports that if someone in Arnaudville leaves their home for a lengthy period of time, they can call the police to request that cameras be set up at their home while away.

Not only does this allow police to monitor your property while you're away, but it also allows the homeowner to monitor their property while away from home.

So, if you're in the Arnaudvillle community and you want these cameras on your property while away, you need to call the police and request that they come out to your property to evaluate where cameras could and should be temporarily installed.

The Chief of Police in Arnaudville did tell KLFY that they can't afford cameras on every street corner, but these temporary cameras could help deter crime where someone may not be for the time.
