The Times Picayune reports Saints' head coach Sean Payton is moving his family to the Dallas area. Payton had considered a similar arrangement when he was originally hired as the Saints coach in 2006, but Owner Tom Benson insisted that he and his family live in the New Orleans area at a time when both the team and the city were rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Such an arrangement is common in professional sports, among coaches and players alike. For example, Tony Dungy's family remained in the Tampa area toward the end of his tenure as coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Paytons lived in the Dallas suburb of Southlake while Payton was an assistant coach with the Cowboys from 2003-2005, and they have always spoken fondly of their time there. They will move into a home in the upscale Vaquero Club in nearby Westlake, and Payton's children will enroll in area schools.
