A man wanted in a February shooting in Opelousas is now in jail after police say he was involved in a multi-parish car chase.

Markentae Williams is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint on Patsy Street on February 23. Police say Williams, Deandra Weston, and Allie Roy stole a gun and cash from the victim before shooting him. Weston was arrested in February. Roy was arrested in March.

According to Opelousas police, Williams led Calcasieu Parish authorities on a chase last week. That chase, police say, ended in Jeff Davis Parish. Williams is in the Jeff Davis Parish jail on charges related to that chase. He will later be transferred to St. Landry Parish to face attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery charges.
