MMA Fighter Takes On Man With Down Syndrome
Here's your feel-good story for the day: Mixed Martial Arts champion (and winner of the first season of "The Ultimate Fighter") Diego Sanchez agrees to take on Isaac "The Shermanator" Marquez, who has Down Syndrome.
According to the story on the Fight State website, the two first met at Sanchez' gym, where he learned that Marquez' dream was to fight in an MMA cage. Sanchez, being the stand-up guy that he is, set out to make that happen.
After the fight, Sanchez said a few words that not only encouraged Marquez, but also warmed my heart. Marquez then took the mic and his words, I'm sure, brought tears to at least a few. Watch:
