Meredith Vieira Explains Why She Stayed In Abusive Relationship

Meredith Vieira is one of the mostly widely known women in America. Her successful TV career includes stints on NBC's Today Show, The View, host of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, and now her own talk show. It's hard to imagine such a woman would be a victim of domestic abuse. She was! Meredith recently shared the details on her show. Peopl often ask, "Why didn't you just leave?" I've asked that question of several domestic abuse survivors, myself. Meredith explains, it's not that simple. The dynamics of such a relationship are very complex, and abusers are manipulative. I've been appalled at some of the views on this issue that have been appearing in social media recently.  As Meredith said, "It's not just an issue with the NFL. It's an issue in all of our lives, and until we take it seriously, more women are gonna get abused, no question about it."
