A man is accused of attacking an Alexandria Police Officer last Friday night while the officer was attempting to arrest him at the entrance of a hospital.

According to KALB-TV, the officer asked a group of men in a car to leave the premise after they failed to comply with his request to lower their music in a car. The group of men then showed back up at the entrance to a local hospital and that's when this incident occurred.

In a graphic video below, you see Jonathon Rhodes hit the officer, knocking him to the ground, then continuing to punch the officer while he is on the ground.

KALB reports that Rhodes admitted to attempting to disarm the officer in the struggle. He was ultimately arrested by police officers and was charged with remaining on premises after being forbidden, second-degree battery of a police officer, attempted disarming of a police officer and resisting by force or violence. Rhodes has since bonded out of jail.

The officer in the video below was treated for his injuries at the hospital and released.
