Lower Cost Internet Service Through The Emergency Broadband Benefit

One of the major issues for many families during the pandemic has been financial stability. When you are trying to make ends meet, your internet service likely can be one of the first things to go.

Now the FCC is announcing, via their website, that the application process for the Emergency Broadband Benefit is officially open.

This program offers those who are struggling to pay for broadband connectivity. Whether your kids are learning virtually at home, or you are working from home, there is the possibility that you can get a discount of up to $50 a month to pay for your internet services.

There are three different ways that you can enroll:

• You can go to the Universal Service Administrative Company to find out how to enroll.
• If you prefer to print out an application and then mail it in you can find the application by clicking here.

How do you know if you qualify? There are several requirements a household will need to meet in order to qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit. If you are a household that receives SNAP benefits, or if your household has received a substantial reduction in the amount of income because of the pandemic then you should apply, as your household likely can qualify for some sort of discount.
