
Louisiana to Get Another Strong Cold Front and Possible Frost
Spring is almost here in the Deep South, but don't let that announcement fool you because another cold front will be dropping the temperatures in Louisiana.
This winter has been very weird, we got a foot of snow across much of south Louisiana, and cold fronts continue to bring chilly days and nights as we make our way closer to mid-March.
For those who love summer, look away. Another strong cold front is pushing further southward this week and with it could come anoother frost for some parts of Louisiana.
While the snow days may be gone for this winter, it doesn't appear that the cooler days and nights are gone---just let.
By the end of this week, a cold front will bring nighttime temperatures into the lower 40s, with some even dipping into the upper 30s, thus allowing for perhaps our final frost. Sadly, many people have already started to plant seasonal plants, thus you may want to protect your tender vegetation one more time this winter.
So, don't put the jackets or gumbo pots away just yet, we may have one or two more days that call for warm gumbo or soup on the stove.
Spring officially starts Thursday, March 20th, but this next cold front will erase some of the spring-like temperatures for a few more days.
Here's a look at the extended forecast for Acadiana, and you can see that it will be chilly/cold this Thursday night and into Friday morning. Yes, the kids will need to be layered up again this Friday morning if they wait for the school bus.
