Louisiana Residents Can Stay Warm This Winter With Candles and Pot
(KTDY) - A massive winter storm has left millions in the Deep South without power as temperatures remain way below freezing.
Sadly, power may not be restored to many who have been freezing for days or weeks, leaving them literally in the dark and looking for ways to stay warm.
While blankets and additional layers of clothing are always a great way to stay warm when you are without power, you can use a simple hack to warm a small room.
Many on social media have been sharing one simple way to warm a room, and iit involves a pot and candles. Now, before we go any further, let me remind you that whenever you are burning candles in your house, you need to be very careful.
You never want to leave them unattended and never place your candles where they can fall over or catch anything on fire.
Now back to the hack, being shared, as a winter storm has left millions without a heat source. All that you have to use is a clay pot or even a pot used in a pressure cooker, and candles
Simply lift the pot off the surface, away from canned goods or anything that can't catch fire, and slide your candles beneath the pot. The heat emitted by the candles will be contained in the pot, creating a heating source in your home.
Let me stress again: anytime you use candles as a heat source, it can be dangerous if you aren't monitoring them, and never put them within reach of kids.
Here are a few videos I came across showing you how to use a pot and candles in your home when you don't have power to warm your living area. As we sometimes do here, we encourage you to share this with others who may be without power after this latest winter storm.
