Louisiana Teen Charged After School Threat Thwarted
A 14-year-old DeRidder school ager is facing serious charges this morning. Those charges stem from alleged threats made against a faculty member and other students at DeRidder High School on Friday.
According to reports the student, a 14-year-old male allegedly threatened to shoot a teacher at the school. The student also threatened to shoot any other students who told of his plans.
DeRidder Police and the Beauregard Parish School Board were notified of the threat and action was taken. A subsequent search of the school and the student turned up no weapons.
The student was taken into custody on charges of terrorizing and was being held a juvenile detention center. The student was expected to remain in custody until a court hearing could be held. The young man is facing charges of terrorizing and has been suspended from school pending the outcome of the investigation into the incident.
