School officials at Kinder Elementary say three eight-year-olds enrolled in third grade at the school were alleged to have compiled an "off-list". The list allegedly contained the names of nine of their classmates. Superintendent of Schools for Allen Parish Kent Reed said "off-list" is what the students called the list. Superintendent Reed was quick to point out that nowhere on the list were the words "death" or "kill".

As you might imagine the discovery of the list was quite unsettling among educators and parents. The three students who were alleged to have been a part of the "list" were given a threat assessment. Investigators determined the threat level from the three to be "low", that was the word used by Superintendent Reed in a story published by KPLC Television in Lake Charles.

The administration of Kinder Elementary as well as the membership of the Allen Parish School Board made sure that all parents in the class were notified of the incident. The three students in question have been suspended.

The Allen Parish School Board has not ruled on how long the suspension of the three students will be. It was noted that the suspensions of the three students was done for "the safety and precaution" of all students. It should also be noted that investigators with the Kinder Police Department have also been assisting in this investigation.
