U.S. News & World Report released it's annual 'Best States' list and Louisiana landed dead last.

I hate seeing Louisiana land last on any list, but being #50 on rankings based on how well states are performing for their citizens is definitely a downer.

How did U.S. News & World Report come up with their 2019 rankings? They looked at health care and education, as well as a state’s "economy, its roads, bridges, internet and other infrastructure, its public safety, the fiscal stability of state government, and the opportunity it affords its residents".  Louisiana didn't fare too well in any of these categories.

So, if Louisiana is the least "best state" which state is the best "best state"?

The "Overall Best State Rankings" show Washington in the #1 spot for the first time. Followed by New Hampshire, Minnesota, Utah, and Vermont in the top five.
