Louisiana Parents’ Club President Accused of Stealing Thousands

Officials with the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's office say they started an investigation earlier this year that has led to the arrest of a Covington woman for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a parents club.

Officials arrested 35-year-old Heather Long of Covington for Theft over $25,000.

The investigation by Murrill's office into what happened to money associated with this case began in March of 2024 when a referral was sent over by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Accusations had been made that the former President of the Lake Castle Parets Club in Madisonville might have stolen funds from the club.

According to investigators with Murrell's office, they alleged that between August 2022 and December 2023 that Long took over $60,000 from the coffers of the club.

Officials say once they obtained an arrest warrant, Long was then booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. They are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding this case.
