Louisiana’s Golden Girls Shined Bright at This Year’s Brunch and Festivities
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The Third Annual "Golden Girl" Brunch at Whiskey and Vine in Lafayette was a hugely festive event with a packed house for each seating.
One of the owners, Angie O'Bryan, says the first weekend in August is a special time. The first Sunday in August has been designated as National Friendship Day.

The day is designated for people around the world to connect with their friends. The theme song of "Golden Girls" is "Thank You For Being A Friend", and that song describes everything people LOVE about the show.
O'Bryan started this lunch as a way for friends to spend some time together and celebrate each other. And, celebrate we did!
Women came in wearing costumes, wigs, comfy t-shirts, caftans, and the ritual to celebrate friendship commenced!
The brunch featured amazing jazz music from J.B. Saxx, along with a tremendous number of brunch choices.

If you're a fan of the Golden Girls, you'll know the primary characters are Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, and Blanche. Many of the women who joined in the fun decided to dress like their favorite character. It was a blast and a riot!
THANK YOU to the many people who came out to celebrate today, and a huge thank you to the staff of Whiskey and Vine. They didn't stop from the moment the first person arrived until the last person left brunch. THANK YOU, ladies and gents!
