This looks like a story for Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser's #onlyinLouisiana. While the Lt. Governor uses the # (hashtag) to promote great photos and events across the state. I use it to emphasize that stuff like this seems to happen only in Louisiana.

Such is the case of the St. Charles Parish Deputy Sheriff who was bitten and injured while helping remove a nuisance alligator yesterday. The unnamed deputy suffered deep lacerations and puncture wounds to his right arm. The animal was able to bite the deputy when it pulled free from the officers catch pole.

St. Charles authorities say the deputy was working with other officers to remove a five-foot alligator from the backyard of a home in the 100 block of Evergreen Court when the incident occurred.  The deputy is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
