You won't find a safer way to take the kids trick or treating than this!

The Lafayette Police Department hosts its second annual Trunk or Treat event on Halloween night. The event provides a safe environment for families to enjoy Halloween fun and allows children to meet local officers in a relaxed setting.

Attendees will receive treats and more from the trunks of decorated LPD squad cars. Children in grades K-5 are encouraged to dress in costume and trick or treat from officers who will also be in costume passing out candy and treats donated by The Millennial Networking Group and The705.

Public safety vehicles will be on hand for an up-close look, along with the horses from LPD’s Mounted Unit. Fun jumps and complimentary pizza and drinks will also be available while supplies last. The event is free and open to the public.

Trunk Or Treat 2018 will be held in the parking lot adjacent to LPD headquarters at 900 East University on October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees are asked to park on the street in the neighborhood within walking distance of the event.
