Lafayette Police Mounted Unit welcomes the two new horses to the arsenal. With the power of these horses, they each equal the manpower and force of twenty officers on the street, according to officials.

Charles "Buddy" Schilling with Schilling Distributing says,

Of course we had to name him Bud, after The King of Beers. It’s a name that represents tradition, community pride, and a little bit of fun… and we couldn’t be more excited to see him serve alongside the Lafayette Police Department.

Lafayette Police Department Senior Corporal David Stanley of the Mounted Patrol Unit says Bud is a compassionate animal that works well with his brother, Mo.

Stanley adds,

One officer on a Clydesdale equals the impact of 20 officers on foot, thanks to their size, intelligence, and calm demeanor in large crowds.

Bud has a black spot on his white striped face. Don't miss your chance to see Bud and Mo in a parade.
