Lafayette Crime Stoppers is a program that aims to assist local police in finding the people who are suspects in various cases.

In recent years, we have often shared stories about how shoplifting is impacting all of us. It costs the consumers and businesses after products are taken because they have to replace the inventory or take a loss; so prices shoot up.

The National Retail Federation reports that 79% of small businesses report theft from their stores costs them between $500 and $2,500. A report from Small Business explains that the pain from theft is even greater at grocery stores because the profit margins are much smaller.

They explain, "....grocery stores commonly operate on a 1-percent profit margin. This means that a grocery store must recover $100 for every $1 worth of shoplifted inventory according to Rutger University.'

The pictures included in this story were provided by Lafayette Crime Stoppers in hopes that someone would recognize the individuals in these photos. Lafayette Police officials believe these two people were responsible for stealing 28 pairs of shoes from the Kohl's store on Ambassador Caffery.

According to Lafayette Crime Stoppers, the store is out $2277 after the theft.
