Lafayette ATM Ripped from Bank, Abandoned Nearby
Bandits made off with an ATM from a Lafayette bank but didn't get very far before it got away from them.
According to KATC TV3, Lafayette City Police are still investigating the crime in which suspects hooked a chain to an ATM at a bank on Camellia Boulevard in River Ranch and pulled it from its mount.
The incident occurred yesterday (Thursday) morning, around 1:40, in the 1300 block of Camellia boulevard (that block is at its intersection with Settler's Trace).
The suspects attached a chain to the ATM and used a stolen Ford F-250 to rip it out. As the suspects were driving away, the ATM slipped out of the chain in the "Settlers Trace area". At that point, the suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot.
Police are reviewing security cameras in the area to try to determine the identities of the suspects.
If you know anything about this incident, you are encouraged to contact the Lafayette City Police Department at 232-TIPS.
