Jamie Bergeron At Hospice Gumbo Cook-off Saturday

The Community Hospice Gumbo Cook-off will be held this Saturday (from 9-5), with Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin' Cajuns as the featured entertainment!

The beautiful grounds of Acadian Village is the setting for the annual event, which raises money to help the indigent families of those receiving hospice care. DJ services will be provided by Todd's DJ Entertainment Services until Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin' Cajuns take the stage at 12:15.

Last year, 17 different teams showed up to cook up the most delicious gumbos you've ever cared to sample! The categories include: Chicken and Sausage, Seafood, and Wild Game.

The cook-off began when the owners of Community Hospice realized that there was a real need in the community to help families under hospice care. Some needed basic supplies like toiletries and kitchen supplies, utility bills, medical bills, funeral expenses, home improvements (wheelchair access/ramps, home modifications, etc) - some even needed help with groceries. Community Hospice started helping those in need, and this event was born from the realization of that need.
