BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KPEL News) - An elderly Breaux Bridge man is dead following an early morning hit-and-run in the St. Martin Parish town.

According to St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux, around 6:54 am on Monday, March 24, 2025, his office received a 911 call in reference to a male subject reportedly lying on the side of the road in the 2600 block of Doyle Melancon Road in Breaux Bridge.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the man was deceased as a result of a hit-and-run.

The man has since been identified as 86-year-old Charles LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Deputies are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect and/or suspect vehicle to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office at (337) 394-3071.
