Driver Killed in Head-On Collision with 18-Wheeler on Louisiana Roadway
Officials with Louisiana State Police say they are still investigating a crash that happened on I-49 where the driver of a truck was driving in the wrong direction on the roadway, leading to his death after a crash with an 18-wheeler.
Louisiana State Police Spokeswoman Trooper First Class Peggy Bourque says the crash happened Tuesday, November 19, but it is still being investigated as the person driving the Dodge truck has not yet been identified. State Police officials are waiting for the return of the forensic evidence to identify the person.
The crash happened, Bourque says, as the driver of the truck was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-449 about 3 miles south of Louisiana Highway 106 and hit an 18-wheeler in the northbound lanes in Evangeline Parish.
