(99.9 KTDY) - The Louisiana Office of Tourism has announced the launch of the Louisiana Hot Sauce Trail, where people who are fans of hot sauce can get their fix.

When you visit the Louisiana House Sauce Trail website, you can sign up for a free passport, which provides access to information on places to visit and discounts available at participating venues.

Visit the World-Famous Tabasco Factory
Acadiana is home to the Tabasco facility in Avery Island, and it offers eight different activities that can be done while you are visiting the destination. Tabasco began production on its delicious sauce in 1863, and it's a staple for millions of people not only in Louisiana but across the globe.
A Hot Sauce Legacy Over 150 Years
The tour offers various facilities, including the Tabasco site, where you can discover delicious spicy sauces produced in Louisiana. According to the makers, Tabasco produces 700,000 bottles of hot sauce daily! The McIlhenny family has been making Tabasco for more than 150 years. As Daniel Geneen explains in a video from Eater on YouTube, Tabasco plays a massive part in the hot sauce history of the United States.
More Flavor Stops Across Louisiana
The trail includes a variety of different venues for visits. Another destination worth visiting is the Panola Pepper Corporation, which has been producing sauce since 1983.
