The rumor that Lafayette could be getting a TopGolf is beginning to grow legs with recent developments in a new report from The Advocate.

According to the report by Adam Daigle, one of TopGolf's partners will be seeking preliminary approval from the Lafayette City Planning Commission this coming Monday.

Chicago-based ARCO/Murray National Construction Co., construction partner for TopGolf, is seeking a preliminary plat approval for 11.44 acres from the Lafayette city planning commission during its Monday meeting, according to the agenda posted this week.

Topgolf is a high-tech driving range based out of Dallas but has been opening locations at a rapid pace—and Lafayette seems to be in their sights for the (hopefully near) future.

The Advocate report said that ARCO/Murray has partnered with TopGolf to build out more than 50 locations around the country, and seems to be interested in the property near Costco that is set to be phase 2 of the Ambassador Town Center development.

While TopGolf has remained hush, there have been numerous rumblings that the high-tech golf and entertainment brand could be making its way to the Hub City. It's hard to believe that they haven't seen an influx of customers from Lafayette since opening their Baton Rouge location nearly 4 years ago.

Some may argue that we have enough food, entertainment, and activity in that area already but this is just the latest in a run of businesses and brands that are seeking out that specific development including Smalls Sliders, Jet Coffee, and more.
