Carencro Baker Competes on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship
CARENCRO, La. (KMDL-FM) - An Acadiana native will be on the small screen tonight as she competes on a network television baking competition.
Carencro's own Nina Marie Charles will be competing on Season 11 of "Halloween Baking Championship" which premieres tonight (Sept. 15) at 8:00 pm CST on the Food Network.
(You can stream the next day on Discovery+ or HBO Max.)
Inside the Halloween Baking Championship
The seasonal series pits 10 bakers from across the country against each other as they whip up spooky, delectable treats for a panel of costumed judges.
Each week, one contestant is eliminated, with the last baker standing earning a cool $25,000 and the title of Halloween Baking Champion.

Here's how the Food Network tees up the competition series:
Hosted by John Henson and set in a haunted mansion, the season features myriad dessert challenges, including some inspired by the monsters and deranged clowns of competitors’ worst nightmares.
Food Network’s Judges and Host
The judges will consist of Food Network personalities Stephanie Boswell, Carla Hall and Zac Young.
While we'll have to see how the series unfolds, win or not, Charles says she really enjoyed her experience, especially in the Food Network kitchen.
"It was really, really nice. I always love going to the studio kitchens, because they pretty much have everything that you can imagine to get your treats done in a timely fashion," she told the Acadiana Advocate. "And then the decorations, they go above and beyond, so they really took it over the top for the Halloween theme."

We'll make sure and keep tabs on how Charles does in the show.
From Netflix to Food Network
This isn't Nina Charles' first national TV appearance as she previously appeared on Netflix's "Is It Cake?" back in 2022. In that competition, bakers created hyper-realistic confections that look exactly like everyday objects, with a $50,000 grand prize to the winner.
While Charles didn't win that competition, she did gain invaluable experience in hopefully going far in this latest foray on national television.
