Is Your Neighborhood Doing a ‘Bear Hunt’?
Social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus has taken over the world and life as we knew it. Parents are trying to come up with new and creative ways to entertain their children. The "Bear Hunt' is on the top of the list. There is a 'Bear Hunt' across the country and the bears have made their way to Acadiana.
The idea comes from the 1989 children’s book by Michael Rosen, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. If you want to participate it’s simple. You just place a teddy bear somewhere visible from the outside of your home. Most people place them in a window. But, many people are getting creative and placing them in themed clothing on their porches. The purpose of this is to create a scavenger hunt type of activity for children. Parents can take their children for a drive around the neighborhood to see how many bears they can find.
Crowley has a lot of bears if you’d like to go on a hunt there with your children. I even spotted a Notre Dame Pio Cheerleader Bear.
