AAA says they expect assist nearly 8 million motorists this summer. Nearly 3 million will have flat tires, or dead batteries. Following a few simple tips can help reduce the risk of trouble when you travel by car.  Check all FIVE tires.  If you have a flat in the middle of nowhere, an unusable spare won't get you anywhere. AAA estimates they'll assist more than 1-1/2 million drivers with battery issues. They expect to replace nearly a half million on the roadside. Check the date on your battery. The heat of a south Louisiana summer can quickly kill an aging battery. Inspect & clean the terminals thoroughly. Disconnect them to make sure you don't miss any hidden corrosion.  Check your fluid levels are full and look for signs of leakage. Replace your wiper blades.  Remember, all these things are cheaper and less inconvenient before you leave home.
