Remember back in the 1980s when the singer Tiffany got famous after starting out singing in shopping malls across the country? Her remake of Tommy James and the Shondells' hit "I Think We're Alone Now" spent some time in the #1 slot on the charts, and she was the hottest ticket in the country for a few minutes.

To hold our attention, Tiffany even had a follow-up hit: "Could've Been".

Well, fast-forward 33 years and we find ourselves still listening to Tiffany when she comes on the radio from time to time, or when she comes around in concert. About 5 years ago she played the Grouse Room in Lafayette and, from what I heard, people had a fun time.

Now there is a recent video of Tiffany performing in Florida circulating on the internet, and it is, shall we say, less than flattering.

Not only does it sound like she is not hitting the proper notes with the song, but she also appears to be slurring as she sings and, at one point, actually drops an "F"-bomb when addressing the crowd.

TMZ posted the video on its website earlier today and, as it goes, I had to watch it. At first I thought I was just going to be seeing her berate the audience. Then, after I watched the video, it hit me: Tiffany is human, and she is aging as humans do. She doesn't look like she did, doesn't sound like she did, and doesn't act like she did when she was 16 and 17, the height of her career.

I feel for you, Tiff: I don't look like I did, sound like I did, nor act like I did when I was 17, either! If you ever find the Fountain of Youth, please promise to save me a sip!

According to the story from TMZ, Tiffany's management told them that she had lost her voice was becoming frustrated with her performance. I guess that could explain why she lost her temper with the crowd (they also may have been heckling her, who knows?).

Let's hope, for her sake, that it was just an off night.
