I admire guys like Delvin Breaux. His road to the NFL hasn't been a smooth one. A neck injury in high school cost the New Orleans native an opportunity to play at LSU. He was undaunted, and played minor leaguefootball after recovering. Breaux went to the CFL, where he became an all star. The New Orleans Saints signed him as a free agent in 2015. The 26 year old rookie quickly became their best cornerback. Injuries caused him to miss 10 games in 2016. It was hoped Breaux would return to his 2015 form this year. A broken fibula has kept him off the field through the first half of the season. Nola.com reports, he won't play at all this year. Head coach Sean Payton has announced Breaux will remain on injured reserve for the rest of 2017. Given the way the Saints young secondary is playing, one can't help wondering if there's a future for the injury plagued 28 year old.
