Injured Louisiana Volleyball Player Returns and Wins Match for Cajuns
An inured volleyball player for Louisiana returned to the court one last time to serve up the match-winning point for the Cajuns.
Louisiana Volleyball Senior Siena DeCambra tore her ACL earlier in the year and on Senior Night, she returned while injured and served an ace for her team to upset Georgia Southern.
You can feel the anticipation in this video below as DeCambra walks up to the backline, with her injured leg in a brace, and tosses the ball in the air. What happened next is a moment she and her teammates will never forget.
Not only did she serve up and ace, but the injured player on her final night as a Cajun completed the upset in Lafayette.
As soon as the ball hit the floor Siena was overcome with emotion and her teammates rushed to her side to celebrate the victory and perhaps the biggest night in her "sports life."
And this is why we love sports, it's moments like this that cannot be duplicated. What happened for this Cajuns Volleyball team was much like a script in a movie. An injured player on her last night returns and wins the match.
This is such a great sports moment, but more than that, this was a great life lesson for all involved in this.
Watch this very special moment in UL Volleyball.
Here are just a few comments that we came across after this video was posted to social media, and you can tell that so many are happy for this young lady.
