Charles Manson is arguably the most notorious murderer in American history. He and his followers, known as the Manson "family'' killed actress Sharon Tate, and six others in August, 1969. Manson was convicted of masterminding the brutal murders in 1971 and sentenced to life in prison. The 82 year old killer is near death, according to a report from the New York Daily News. Manson was taken to Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California with intestinal bleeding. He initially refused surgery, then reconsidered. Doctors eventually decided Manson was too weak. He's been returned to State Prison - Corcoran, in central California. How long Manson will survive is in doubt. One thing is certain. The gates of Hell will swing wide open when Charles Manson passes from this earthly life.
