It was morning. I'd just gotten out of the shower, about to brush my teeth. I was happy and in a great mood. My mind was clear and no radio or television was on in the house. Then I heard a male voice exclaim, "CJ".

Now you may think I'm crazy, heck, I thought I was for a second. The voice was clear and loud.  So loud, I jumped. I was startled, to say the least. After I caught my breath, I thought the kids may have popped over for a visit. But it couldn't be the kids 'cause they would call me dad, not CJ. And the male voice didn't sound like my son Blake, at all.

It took me a few minutes to get myself back on track. My morning was derailed for a moment. Never had this happened to me in my current house. This may have happened one other time in my life, but I don't remember details. I just have a vague memory of something like this happening in the past, but I couldn't say for sure when or where.

I talked about this incident on the radio several days ago and to my surprise, about 20 people reached out to me about that same thing happening to them.  Some were just children when it started. One lady told me that she had chills in the car when I said it on the air. It brought her back to her childhood when she and her siblings would hear voices out of nowhere in an old house her father bought about 20 miles out of Lafayette.

I don't have an explanation. Was it my mind playing tricks on me? I don't think so.  The voice was loud and it was clear.

Many of you may not know this about me, but I am what most would call an audiophile. I pay close attention to sound and the quality of sound.

I've been awakened by someone calling my name, but to me that's explainable. I was more than likely dreaming.  But this was no dream.  I was wide awake, all the lights were on and my mind was sound.

To this day, I have no explanation. This is where I was standing.
