Louisiana has only three tunnels, but only one has a very dark past. So dark, that the state has considered replacing the Houma Tunnel with an overpass instead.

According to onlyinyourstate.com, the Houma tunnel has been the scene for a few "memorable accidents". Drivers claim they see the ghost of a motorist who died in one of those accidents.

The Houma Tunnel was built in 1961 and is 960 ft. in length. The next time you find yourself in it, try not to hit the ghosts.
