Hurricane Harvey has been devastating to the entire eastern part of Texas, including the city of Houston.

Since Thursday morning, parts of the southeast Houston metro area have received more than 30 inches of rain.

Obviously, because of the catastrophic rains, changes are being made to the sports schedule for the area.

The Houston Astros, who were scheduled to play host to Texas, will now take on the Rangers in a three-game series, in Tampa, Florida, Tuesday-Thursday,

The Astros are schedule to host the Mets this weekend at Minute Maid Park, but no decision has been made on that series, as of yet.

FCS power Sam Houston St., which is ranked third in the NCAA's preseason FCS poll, had its season-opener vs. No. 7 Richmond, initially scheduled for Sunday night, postponed indefinitely.

LSU and BYU are still scheduled to meet in Houston's NRG Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2, but don't expect that to happen.

There has been talk of moving the game to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, or even Tiger Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans will practice at the Cowboys' facility in Frisco, ahead of Thursday's game against Dallas, scheduled to be played at Houston's NRG Stadium. Expect that game to be played at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, although nothing is official.

Finally, the Houston Cougars' football team practiced at the University of Texas all weekend. The Cougars open their season next Saturday about 80 miles from Austin, when they travel to UTSA.

The Rice Owls open on the road this weekend, at Arizona.
