George Strait Band Member Killed

Sad news to report for fans of Country Music icon George Strait and his equally as iconic Ace in the Hole Band. Mike Kennedy, the drummer for the band was tragically killed in a car crash on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened in Winston County Tennessee on Interstate 40. Reports from the scene suggest that Kennedy's truck collided with a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. Kennedy was the only fatality in the crash.

Kennedy began playing the drums at the age of seven. Over the course of his career, he has played with such notable performers as Ricky Skaggs, Barbara Fairchild, and Jamey Johnson. Kennedy began playing for the Ace in the Hole band in 1983.

Mike Kennedy was 59 years old.
