The flu epidemic in Louisiana is having a major impact on the local blood supply. Donations have been low due to the holiday season and frigid temperatures, and now the flu outbreak is contributing to an insufficient amount of blood donations. Because of this, United Blood Services is asking for your help.

If you are healthy and able, United Blood Services is asking you to donate blood as soon as possible, within the next seven days. Donations can be made at the donor center located at 1503 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette or at mobile blood drive.  Schedule your appointment to donate at www.bloodhero.com or call 337-235-LIFE (5433).  Walk ins are welcome.  You can also pledge to be a First Blood Responder by donating three times in 2018 at www.pledgetosave.com.
