The FIRST Robotics Bayou Regional Competition Is Heating Up

99.9 KTDY is live from Kenner at the FIRST Robotics Bayou Regional, where four Acadiana teams are competing today and tomorrow. Carencro High School is represented by Team 4832, The Crobots; Acadiana High, Team 4336 is Ramageddon; David Thibodeaux STEM Academy is the Krewe des Reauxbotics, Team 4353; 3616 Team Phenomena has students from Comeaux, Teurlings and Lafayette High.

Right now, Ramageddon leads our local entries in 20th place among 57 teams. The Crobots and Krewe de Reauxbotics were even included on a New Orleans morning television show this morning. The festivities began with a parade of robots and a grand welcome for the 57 teams and 100+ volunteers, which also included a thank you to Entergy, a major sponsor of the Bayou Regional. I've met some dedicated volunteers and sponsors while here and hope that everyone in Acadiana will cheer for these future engineers and programmers!
