Ceiling Fan Recall: Blades Fly Off During Use

The Hampton Bay ceiling fans being recalled were sold exclusively at Home Depot, and one safety agency said that there are reports of consumers being injured by flying blades.

The New York Post identifies the fans as the Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara indoor/outdoor model which, according to the story, is manufactured in China. Over 190,000 of these fans have been sold at Home Depot.

The distributor of the fans says that the issue involves a screw that isn't properly secured.
